Temporary Seasonal Snow Removal Worker
Under direct supervision of the Highway Commissioner, the Temporary Seasonal Snow Removal Worker performs essential snow and ice control operations during the winter season. All duties are performed in accordance with the township safety code and established safe work practices.
The employment dates are anticipated to be November 15, 2017 through April 16, 2018, which are subject to change without notice based on the extent of severe winter weather. Regular hours of work are anticipated to be Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. until 3:30 p.m., which are subject to change without notice based on the extent of severe winter weather. During the snow and ice control call-outs, this position is on a 24-hour call-in status. Experience required.*
This is a temporary seasonal position with no guarantee of reemployment from year-to-year. If the township decides to hire candidate(s) for the next winter season, qualified candidates must reapply and comply with all Township hiring requirements. The Temporary Seasonal Snow Removal Worker position is an at will employee position, which is not eligible for employee benefits, including for example medical, dental, and life insurance, sick leave, holiday pay, and vacation.

*Minimum Education, Experience and Certification
High School Diploma or GED equivalency required; additional specialized technical training, certificate or degree from an accredited technical college or career training institute preferred.
CDL license, Class A or Class B with air brakes required. Class A preferred.
At least five years of experience performing snow removal.
Ability to pass background check, pre-employment drug/alcohol testing and DOT physical exam. (This position is subject to random drug and alcohol testing.)
