Flu Shot Clinic

Jewel/Osco will be providing flu, high dose flu for 65+, pneumonia, shingles, and Tdap (tetanus/diphtheria/whooping cough) vaccines, at the Senior Center. Insurance and Medicare will be billed directly. You will need to register for an appointment on-line with Osco. If you would like any immunization other than the flu shot please select the vaccines you would like to receive at the flu shot clinic. Please bring your insurance card, drug plan card, and Medicare cards.

Grandparents Day Fall Festival 2021

Mark your calendar for our, “Grandparents Day Fall Festival 2021.” Bring your family for a memorable day at the Senior Center. A fun, entertaining day filled with food, family photos, games, and train rides is planned. Registration is required.

Secretary of State Mobile Unit

The Secretary of State Mobile Driver Services Facility includes the following services: Drivers License Renewal, State ID Card, Duplicate License, Corrected License, Vision Screening, and Vehicle Renewal Stickers.

Presentation: Beyond the Devil in the White City

Step back in time to the 1893 Chicago Worlds Columbian Exposition! John Borowski, independent American filmmaker and author will be at the Senior Center to give a lecture, 64 minute film screening presentation, and Q & A on the history of H.H. Holmes, America’s First Serial Killer, along with the book, “The Strange Series of Dr. H.H. Holmes.” The focus of his work has been on late nineteenth and early twentieth century serial killers, initially in a trilogy of documentaries of American criminals, more recently on particular international criminals.

Lake County Sheriff's Drug Take Back Day

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office will be at the Warren Township Senior Center collecting unwanted or unused prescription drugs and over-the-counter drugs as well as controlled and non-controlled substances. Injectable drugs and syringes will not be accepted.

Halloween Luncheon

Back by popular demand Magician Bill Cook combines music with mind blowing magic. His high-energy show features comedy, drama and interactive audience participation. Lunch menu includes tenderloin beef tips with egg noodles, island blend vegetables (broccoli, green beans, yellow carrots, and red peppers), garden salad with ranch or thousand island dressing, and 7 layer bars for dessert catered by Maravela’s. Costumes welcomed, but optional.

Veteran's Day Celebration Brunch

Join us for a Veterans Day Brunch to honor the men and women who served our country and thank them for ensuring the freedoms we enjoy every day. We would also like to create an honor board for those who would like to share a photo of themselves in their service uniform to be displayed at the Senior Center. We will be serving a hot buffet brunch of scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, American fries, French toast (Maravela’s special bread), syrup, butter, Danish, fruit, coffee, tea, and orange juice.
The brunch will be free for our Warren Township Senior Center veterans.

Thanksgiving Day Luncheon

Charles Pansino has been performing in the Chicagoland area for over ten years now. Starting out in the genre of rock music, he soon went to his roots and started performing shows including jazz, blues, rock n’ roll, and gospel. Through his performance, you are introduced to the sounds, history, and attitude that defined early American music. Lunch menu includes sliced turkey breast, turkey gravy on the side, mashed potatoes, glazed sweet potatoes, green bean almondine, bread stuffing with sage, salad, rolls, butter, and a pumpkin pie square for dessert catered by Maravela’s.

Winter Celebration

Save the date for the 40th annual Warren Township Senior Center Winter Celebration! Charles Pansino, pianist and singer will take you on an entertaining musical journey then a delicious lunch of london broil w/ sautéed mushroom sauce, marinated chicken breast, francais blend - green beans, carrots, & almonds, oven roasted potatoes with vesuvio sauce, dinner rolls, dessert, coffee, tea, & holiday punch will be served. After lunch, sing and dance to “Silver Bells & Swinging 50’s & 60’s Standards” performed by The Maureen Christine Ensemble.
Invitations will be mailed and also available at the senior office beginning late October.

Warren Township High School Choir Program

Join us for a morning of holiday music presented by the Warren Township High School Bella Voce Choir. They are an ensemble made up of Junior and Senior treble voice students. This group of talented singers will perform choral music to help welcome the Holiday Season, as well as some other favorites, too. This program promises to be an enjoyable morning at the Senior Center.
