What We Do
TRANSPORTATION FORMS Skate Park is Open as of 4/15/2008 SHIRTS MUST BE WORN WHEN ON TOWNSHIP PROPERTY- BY ORDER OF TOWNSHIP SUPERVISOR AND TOWNSHIP BOARD. School Year: Monday-Thursday, 2 pm-7 pm Fri 2-5 Cost: membership is 25.00 for the school yearSummer Hours: Monday-Thursday, 9am-6 pm Friday 9am-5pm ALL Fridays: Teen Center closes at 5 pm. Gurnee Idol is proudly presented by HCHY (Healthy Communities Healthy Youth) , Gurnee Park District and Warren Township. 2008-2009 Warren Township High School students are encouraged to come out and showcase their talents. No Registration required for auditions. Auditions are as follows: April 28 @ WTHS (almond) from 3:15 to 5:15pm, May 5 @ WTHS (oplaine) from 4-6pm, and May 8th @Warren Township Teen Center from 7-9pm. The dress rehearsel will be held on August 6th @ 6pm at the Viking Park Band Shell and the Idol competition will be held on August 8th @7pm at the annual Gurnee Days Festival (also in Band Shell) For more information on Gurnee idol contact Teen Center Director. The Teen Center is going on an over night canoe trip to the Blackhawk River Runs in WI on Aug.13th and 14th, 2008. If you love the wilderness, water and camping this is an unforgettable adventure. Trip includes: Canoe rental, Paddles, Canoe Instruction, Transportation, Meals on the river, tents and a T-shirt. Packets will be available with waivers, instructions, behavior contracts and suggest supplies. Cost: $80.00Creations Café "open mic night" The creations literary magazine presents open mic night at the teen center Friday May 9th from 6:30-9:30. All WTHS students are welcome to attend. Interested in performing? Contact Mrs. Oddo at WTHS for event scheduling held in the fall of 2008 The summit is sponsored by the Lake County After School Coalition. The Youth Summit is a day long event that engages 7th and 8th grade students in activities that assist them in recognizing strategies to deal with common teen issues. Students also develop leadership skills to activate other teens to join them in proposing and adapting positive solutions. Staff are available to help answer questions and to help maintain a productive working enviornment. 3-4:30 Monday-Thursday WTTC is open for all warren township students, we provide a quiet place to study and staff and volunteers are available for help. We offer commputers/internet for research papers. Cost: Free for teen center members 6-12 gradeHours subject to change without notice. MEMBERSHIP FEES & LATE FEES... Parents will be charged $1 per child, per minute after closing. *Please note the fee for a membership 07-08 is $25.00. 2007-2008 Arts and Crafts Class Join our Craft instructors: Mrs. Horn and Mrs. Roehr for an afternoon of fun. Class includes; Project materials, assembly, and instruction. Class maximum: 15 participants sign up is available the day of the craft. Start Time: 4:00 pm End Time: 6:00pmCost: Free with Teen Center membership Yum…Pizza and Movie at WTTC. Includes movie, 3 slices of pizza and 2 sodas. See front desk for availability. Members only, limited to first 25, permission slips must be turned in by 6pm night before event. Min number of participant is 8. Cost: $5.00 pp includes soda and pizzaTeen Advisory Board is a group of members that help aid staff in planning activities, trips holiday events, community outreach projects and more… All 6th-10th grade members are welcome to participate we will be meeting on Thursday nights starting in 2008. This year’s TAB has planned trips to rinkside sports, congo river, a haunted house and the upcoming Valentines dance party.
