REMINDER:

Senior Homestead Exemption:

Residents who receive the Senior Homestead Exemption DO NOT need to reapply each year. This has been in the news lately because of changes in Cook County, but in Lake County there is no requirement to reapply each year.

Senior Citizen Assessment Freeze:

Residents MUST reapply each year for the Senior Citizen Assessment Freeze. In the coming weeks, the Chief County Assessment Office will mail this application to all taxpayers receiving the Senior Homestead Exemption.
